WILMA DELONGCHAMP
Wilma is a dedicated health care educator and a passionate self-taught ceramic artist. Her journey in ceramics has led her to explore a rich variety of forms, functions and techniques, supported by numerous course and workshops. She became captivated by atmospheric firing, drawn it its unique possibilities and exciting unpredictability
In 2021,Wilma completed an apprenticeship on Vancouver Island, further refining her craft. Her artistic exploration encompasses a wide range of firing techniques, including smoke, wood pit gas and saggar firing.
Inspired by her work with patients of all ages, Wilma has recently focused on capturing the fluidity and grace of the human form in her sculptures.
Currently she shares her enthusiasm for Raku firing as an instructor at the Clay Hub Collective while continuing to create and innovate in her home studio.
